The plague is back in the form of fakes again. Poor, Rolex is always getting hit with the rash of fakes and now it is out again with the new style Submariner! Pictured is a fake Rolex with a fake ceramic bezel, fake big lugs and fake, fake, fake. It gets old, indeed and the junk dealers keep it right on coming. Look out for extra large etched crown indicators, poorly adjusted bezels, even poor springbars can tip off a fake. Arggghhhh! CTWG.

Sometimes, you run into some brands that your friends have not heard of and they are not really on the compass of many watch collectors. Don’t let this discourage you from picking up a cool piece from time to time. Many small watch outfits can produce some outstanding pieces that are a fraction of the price you would pay for a real “recognized” brand. Nomos, RGM, Luminox etc. all have some fun watches that can fit the bill if trying to save a couple bucks. On this years trip to Basel I will highlight some of these “Off Brands” . CTWG

The following is an online seller of Gray-market goods.
Know what your in for folks…..CTWG I will be playing the role of Chris(Not an animal) Tiernata

Operator James has joined the chat.
James10:57:55 AM
Hello!
Chris Tiernata10:58:04 AM
Hello,
10:58:08 AM
quick question
10:58:34 AM
I see Factory Original and Original in descriptions is there a difference?
10:59:50 AM
This is referring to Rolex products.
11:00:14 AM
Are the bracelets made in Switzerland by Rolex.
11:00:33 AM
Hello?
James11:01:19 AM
sorry
11:02:09 AM
Many of the rolex watches we have are preowned
11:02:44 AM
The braceletes we have online are Factory made in Switzerland by Rolex
Chris Tiernata11:03:33 AM
They are new product with protective coating from Rolex?
James11:03:41 AM
They are not refurbished
11:04:24 AM
Factory original that they come directly from rolex Switz
11:05:04 AM
If your interest in any of them remember that we offer a 10 day inspection period
Chris Tiernata11:05:11 AM
Ok, excellent. You are authorized for Repair and parts with Rolex.
James11:05:50 AM
We only repair watches that we’ve sold
Chris Tiernata11:06:44 AM
I.C. so not authorized, but you service.
11:06:56 AM
Your goods.
11:07:40 AM
It seems easy enough to purchase a new bracelet, from the site. I am just apprehensive.
11:07:59 AM
Real not real, I am sure you get this alot.
James11:08:38 AM
We understand, we are resellers. That’s why we can sell below the retail price
11:09:09 AM
And we also provide our customers with the ten day inspection period.
Chris Tiernata11:10:55 AM
Ok
11:11:53 AM
Will Rolex take my bracelet if I send it in for service to New York. I have heard they do that! If gray market goods. Would you consider this gray market?
11:16:23 AM
You still there?
11:18:00 AM
Hello?
James11:18:12 AM
I don’ know if they will take it
Chris Tiernata11:18:58 AM
Really?
James11:19:06 AM
We won’t fix it. The only bracelets we fix are the ones we sell
Chris Tiernata11:20:57 AM
No, if I buy a bracelet from you and get the watch serviced at Rolex will I have a problem.
11:21:04 AM
?
James11:22:11 AM
the bracelet can be installed by any jeweller
11:22:21 AM
you don’t need to go to a rolex
11:22:42 AM
they will try to make a profit more than a service
Chris Tiernata11:26:47 AM
IC. Thank you so much for your help. I will check out the Gray Market Bracelets and see if one will fit my watch. Do you think even the Mall people at Dakota watches could put on your bracelets?
11:28:24 AM
I know they are not the best, but I don’t want to risk losing my bracelet!
11:43:32 AM
Sorry, are you still there?
11:44:41 AM
James?

Well it is funny how things can go full circle, Tiger is now an Ambassador for Rolex? Tiger cut his teeth with Tudor the sister Rolex company, jumped ship to Tag Heuer. He then had some problems “Cough”, lost the Tag account and went underground for a bit with sponsorship dollars. Why did big poppa Rolex bring the bad boy of golf back? It seems a bit risky to me, but morally I will sit the fence and see where he goes in the future.
