Man, a complication, say it isn’t so Hall and Oates! Rolex doesn’t throw alot of punches, but when they do, it counts. Speaking of counts, so does the little beauty above, counts down those Yacht races 0 to 10 minutes, and can be programmed ahead of time! A calibre 4160 movement, all Rolex, make up this new movement landmark. I have not seen the guts to this timepiece, of course, I am eager. Yes, they finally broke tradition and jumped the 40mm mark on this baby too. Proud, I am, proud. I can’t wait to see more, bravo. CTWG
remove the “YACHTMASTER II” writing from the face of the watch and you would have a winner.. to darn blingy for me.. nice tech behind the face though
Yes, the bling has been set loose on this model. Not for the afternoon at the ballgame, but I would sport it no doubt. CTWG
ROLEX Yachtsman II: A trinket for the “armchair yachtsman” and a huge miss for the “on-the-boat” owner/competitor.
Functionality is good for only race starts (e.g., programmable count down, fly-back restart). It lacks the count-up feature essential for handicap racing (e.g., IRC, PHRF) that most yacht owners are involved in.
For the rest of the people racing the boat for the yacht owner, they will use Citizen, Timex, and Casio to tell the yacht owner the timing information he/she is seeking from the ROLEX.
