Not Such A Hit!

Hublot Big Bang, Royal Oak rip off? With better marketing? Not an original look or style, but it sells like hot cakes, wins design awards? Am I missing the boat watch lovers, tell me something to help change my mind. I keep hearing the buzz and still can’t get a hold of this one. Hublot has been a cruise boat line that had some appeal for American tourists drunk on rum punch and ready to go swimming other than that it was three clicks below Chaumet in name recognition. Now it is the toast of Switzerland! Is this watch for real! Please feel free to blast me on this one! CTWG

    CTWG,

As always you pick the best and have the deal on the watches we need to know about. Another great entry. CTWG is a BFL…Blogger for Life???

Can’t believe this. I own two Big Bangs, it is the nicest watch on the market today, cutting edge materials and technology.

Hard to get? Yes, because EVERYBODY wants one.

I think you must have sour grapes because you have to pay close to list for them. I am telling you, it is worth it!

  6. Chad says:

Pay list? I would not pay for it at all! If I wanted a Royal Oak, I would get it, but a Hublot. I am used to selling them half off in a sale case, one over-marketed watch will not make much of a change to a brand known for rubber straps, ETA quartz movements, and dust collecting sales in past years. Don’t believe the marketing, in two years this watch will be worth nothing and you will be sitting on a Big Dud of your own. Trust me! CTWG

OK so Hublot did not sell that well before but that does not tale away from this being a great watch. It is named the Big Bang (signaling the Brand’s revival) after all.

It is finely made, decent movement and for the look, material, finish and desirability very well priced!

But hey what do I know? My favorite brand is Breitling :)

  8. Chad says:

If the watch is your flavor, cool, not for me as you know. Breitling has some great pieces, just no after market to speak of, still a heavy hitter in the industry and a real nice case design for everyday wear.

Well almost 2 years have past and Hublot is still no dud. I don’t see them collecting dust on shelves.
