Great desgin, but $4250 MSRP?
I’ll give up the second time zone and stick with my Oris Professional Diver for less than half the price.
I think Kobold has created a really nice $1500 watch here, but vastly overpriced it.

A $1500.00 watch market will get you top of the line Swiss Army, maybe a straight Fortis steel GMT. Check the metal, check the movement, design variations, this is not run of the mill mass produced. You get a true limited edition! Oris is great, enjoy the Jazz!

Go with an Oris… no question that the Kobold is the nicer looking of the two but it’s movement and material still can’t justify $4250!! There are plenty of Ti divers out there including the Oris with complimentary ETA movements and Albert is right for half the price!!

Overpriced, but damn nice.
I would love to have a Kobold watch, I just can’t afford it yet. But if you like “army”-style watches made for special forces and professionals get yourself a Sinn or a Mühle. They cost not even half the price an have the same (or even more) features.

Another vote for a Sinn here. There are great offerings for $1500 (U1, 256, 356, 656, 856), and up of course.
Michael Kobold worked at Sinn. His watches are heavily influenced by them but decidely more up-market and expensive. While I agree the SMG-1 is overpriced, it is no $1500 watch. $3000-$3500 is more like it.

I’ve owned Kobold before. IMO: way over priced. And this one @ $4250? sorry but @ that price I’d buy IWC .
It’s a $1500 watch at best…even then Sinn, Tutima & Mule offer superior craftsmanship.
